J-DES description
J-DES is a web-application, available in Saas mode, designed and produced by ACM-e, to facilitate and support the engineering work related to the execution of extensive. Maintenance and Reliability Engineering and Management projects. Thanks to the chance of utilizing specialized internal libraries, related to failure categories on one side and routine and preventive maintenance standards on the other side, J-DES can dramatically help the involved teams to work with a high level of quality, saving time on not-value added activities and focusing on the expert analysis, to determine the best technical solutions for maximizing assets reliability and availability, with lower costs and shorter pay-back periods. It allows to work remotely on the same project, also staying in different geographical locations; this cooperation model enables to speed-up the projects enhancing the possibility of performing back-office work. One project manager can set-up a project team, coordinate and synchronize the work execution and progress. The application is composed of different modules:
-
Engineering module
-
Reporting module
-
User management module
-
Utilities module
-
Embedded chat and assistance module
-
Administration module
-
R&M Libraries module
Benefits for the client
-
RAM performance optimization and lower costs of failures and of unnecessary time-based maintenance works
-
Long-term spare parts reduction, based on robust and objective analyses
-
Systematic and standardized approach to reliability, maintainability and availability
-
Personnel qualification and skills upgrade
-
Not «spot» approach, but part of a continuous improvement process
Case history – Reliability Centered Maintenance application at Cargill plant in Russia
Description
- Chemical plant with heterogeneous generations of equipment and technologies
- Utilities with very low reliability and many repair interventions
- RCM analysis dedicated to determine the best maintenance policies to minimize failure rates and costs
- Agreement on the methodology to adopt and subdivision of the analysis
- Application of RCM approach to more than 400 components of the utilities systems
Involvement
• N. 1 ACM-e’s consultant working in back-office (back-office)
• N. 2 client’s engineers working on-site
Outputs and benefits
- Optimized maintenance policies
- In one year reduction by 30% of the Corrective Maintenance policy workload and adoption from 5 to 20% of the Predictive Maintenance policy (mainly for rotating and electric items)
